My research question asks if a durational artistic intervention can translate social, economic and ecological tensions related to land use into narratives, which in turn intervene in the imaginary landscape of place. The focus of my research is the way in which workers (myself included) inhabit and re-imagine the land in which we work.

'Trial Plot', my current project, acts as a frame for artist led actions, incidental social interactions and growing trials at a Bord na Móna peat production site in Ireland.

Painting, Photographic documentation and conversations are integral to my practice. To contextualise my work I am researching the work of Francis Alÿs, with regard to his actions and his series of paintings. For him, the painting is an everyday artefact, a portable inner space that is constantly interacting with its surroundings.
